Building the identity of Casablanca delves back in time. Based upon history and myth in equal parts, this map is an evocation of the experience and memory of a city. Tracing the mobility of its inhabitants and the metamorphosis of its neighbourhoods, it becomes the portrait of a city whose evolution has occurred through transhumance and mutation.
SKY IS NOT THE LIMIT + LOADING, DUBAÏ 2017
Mural and neon installation commissioned by Dubaï Design Week
Neon installation 178 x 120 x 12 cm
The coastline of Casablanca is a metaphorical image to relate the city’s capacity for change, its ability to free itself from stillness and push the limits of its perimeter.
Why should we be restricted to a single image that would print itself upon and limit our minds?... whilst we could welcome a limitless number of possibilities to portray the white city. The mural work is an invitation into the imaginary, to constantly reinvent the legend.

Loading … Casa (Hotline), through its format and modus operandi, mirrors this cyclical energy. A still, inert body comes to life, gradually and then with increasing speed, going through distinct stages: excess, overheating, exhaustion, and finally, death. Before being born once again, relentlessly.
